“Channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 HATE MEXICANS”
I saw a web page that read, “KEN BURNS HATES MEXICANS.” If you remember a few months ago Mr. Burns was doing another documentary on WWII. His “sin” was to omit Latinos and specifically Latino veterans and Latinos who participated in the conflict. Everyone, especially Latino veterans, was rightfully angry at Mr. Burns and at PBS for excluding Latinos from the story. Some boycotted the program while others boycotted PBS.
However the exclusion of Chicanos/ Latinos from every major TV station in the LA, Southern California area, ie., Channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 is worse than what Ken Burns did. So where is the anger and outrage at all of these stations? We should be up in arms like we did two years ago regarding the Immigration issues.
The headlines should read, “Channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and all of HOLLYWOOD HATE MEXICANS.” Or simply “TV HATES MEXICANS”

Welcome the world of b-l-o-g-s Frank. My sense of one answer is that Burns made a commemorative film about soldiers. Anything about the military that does not include praise for all involved gets strident criticism. But television more generally has a lot of stuff people don’t care about, other stuff they wish they did not have to care about, and things that make them angry just because they exist. I bet an answer is in there somewhere.
